Labyrinth
A labyrinth is an ancient symbol that relates to wholeness and represents a journey to our own center and back again out into the world. It combines the imagery of the circle and the spiral into a meandering but purposeful path. It is a single path or unicursal tool for personal, psychological and spiritual transformation and they are considered to enhance right brain activity. Labyrinths have long been used as meditation and prayer tools. Evidence of their presence dates from many early cultures e.g. in Greek Mythology and can be seen at Newgrange. The Classical Seven Circuit Labyrinth in this example shows that you enter a labyrinth through the mouth and then walk on the paths or circuits. Our Labyrinth is created with willows and was planted and woven on our gardening course 25 years ago. It is the Classical style with 5 rings and is embraced by a circular Forest Garden.
